Toyota Motor Manufacturing Czech Republic s.r.o. celebrates 20th anniversary of production

Toyota Motor Manufacturing Czech Republic s.r.o. is celebrating 20 years of operation today, currently producing the Toyota Yaris and Toyota Aygo X models. Since the start, the Kolín plant has manufactured over 4.5 million vehicles.

The original investment was 25 billion CZK and even after more than 20 years, this investment ranks among the largest ever made in the Czech Republic. The plant has been 100% owned by Toyota since 2021, which has invested significantly into its further expansion and production of hybrid electric cars Toyota Yaris. In the last 3 years, the company has been expanding the plant’s capacity as well as the railway siding connected to other European Toyota plants. In 2024, Toyota opened its first European Mega Hub on the plant premises, supplying Toyota and Lexus dealerships in Germany, Austria, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and the Czech Republic.

“We are extremely proud of what we have achieved over the past 20 years,” said Róbert Kiml, President of Toyota Motor Manufacturing Czech s.r.o.. ”Our accomplishments are the results of the quality efforts of our employees and the trust and support we receive from our customers.” The company is planning events for employees and the public to celebrate this significant milestone. One of them will be a gala afternoon on the main square in Kolín. On Saturday, May 31, 2025, an attractive program full of musical performances, accompanying activities, great food and drinks will be prepared for both employees and the public.

The company has been actively involved in the development of the region from the very start. The Grant Program, the Toyota Beat Festival or traditional employee charity collections and many more activities have brought more than 150 million CZK to education, sports, culture, social services, security and other areas in the region.

Toyota Motor Manufacturing Czech Republic s.r.o. is a manufacturer of compact Toyota cars, which are well-known for their excellent quality and reliability. It is one of the largest employers in the Central Bohemian Region. The Toyota Aygo X and Toyota Yaris city compact cars are manufactured here. Over the past few years, the company has been innovating its facilities and preparing for new expectations of the automotive market. The key markets have traditionally been Great Britain, Germany, France, and Italy. Over 3,100 employees are employed at the plant, the average wage for blue-collar workers is 57,710 CZK.
